Is hiring the real job of a franchise owner?

In people businesses, yes. Here is what that means before you buy.

Yes. In almost every business we recommend, hiring is the job.

That surprises people. They picture themselves running the operation, marketing, maybe doing some of the work. Then they open, and they spend most of their week finding, training, and keeping people.

Why it matters more now

The businesses that are hardest to automate are the ones built on people. That is their strength, and it is also their biggest operating challenge. A pet groomer, a home care company, or a restoration crew is only as good as the people who show up.

What good owners do

They hire for attitude and train for skill. They pay a little more than the market and lose fewer people. They promote from inside so staff can see a future. They are in the business enough to know who is doing well.

A question to ask yourself

Have you hired, managed, and kept a team before? If yes, that experience is worth more than any industry background. If not, tell us. We will look for brands with strong staffing support and shorter learning curves.

I spent years speaking on hiring and retention. It is the part of ownership that never stops mattering.

A few questions, about 5 minutes. Costs you nothing. Franchisors pay us, and we still tell you when to walk away.

Open Territory

Franchises that still need people.
